Remembering the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll

During Elvis Week 2007, thousands of fans will converge in Memphis to remember the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll. Fans from around the world will drop hundreds of thousands of dollars on souvenirs, special event tickets, hotels rooms, meals and transportation. They’ll hear a great many of the 700-plus songs the singer recorded, watch his movies and wear replicas of his jumpsuits and sunglasses. They’ll laugh, cry, sweat, wait in lines, dance and party up a storm.
It has already been a big year for Elvis. The venerable Thomas Kincaid painted Graceland; Harley-Davidson issued 30 one-of-a-kind “signature” motorcycles with special paint jobs; Reese’s Peanut Butter & Banana Creme Cups, with wrappers featuring Elvis, are now in stores; there’s an Elvis Cruise; the famed Peabody Hotel will install the King on its Duck Walk of Fame; and more – so much more.
