Maddy Roberts, a 4-year-old preschooler at Gracemore Elementary School, knew exactly what was about the happen with the red ribbon hung across the doorway at room A10.
“You're going to snip it open,” she said.
The Northland's second Success by 6 center opened Sept. 18 at the school, and Roberts was ready to play with and learn from the roomful of educational toys and material.
success by 6 is a United Way program designed to provide families with the materials they need to prepare children for kindergarten. Aimed specifically at low-income households, participants can borrow brand new toys and books that all have an educational facet.

The first rev of a Harley-Davidson
Did you know motorcycles have been on the road for over 100 years?
The first one was invented in 1867 by Sylvester Howard Roper. The American creation was powered by a two-cylinder steam engine.
The first gas-engine motorcycle followed 20 years later and was invented in Germany by Gottlieb Daimler. His bike had a wooden frame with a four-stroke internal-combustion engine attached. Such engines were a fairly new development. They were only designed in 1876, by an engineer named Nicolaus August Otto.
While Daimler and Roper moved on to work on the automobile, there were others out there that continued to tinker with the idea of a motorbike. A few of these tinkers were William Harley and his two friends, Arthur and Walter Davidson, who launched the Harley-Davidson Motor Company in 1903.

Ford Introduces 2008 Harley-Davidson F-Series Super Duty and F-150
The 2008 Ford Harley-Davidson F-Series Super Duty comes to showrooms this fall. For 2008, for the first time, it shares the same design as the Harley-Davidson F-150. This is the 11th model to come out of the alliance with Harley-Davidson that started in 1999. Ford says this latest version "draws its design theme from the special-edition 105th Anniversary Harley-Davidson motorcycle," which is noteworthy for its Vintage Copper paint.
The 2008 Ford Harley-Davidson F-Series Super Duty comes in either a black monochromatic exterior paint with a Vintage Copper stripe or a black and Vintage Copper two-tone paint scheme. Ford said the truck is available with the 6.4-liter Power Stroke diesel.

2008 Harley-Davidson Edition Ford F-Series
The new for '08 Ford Harley-Davidson F-Series Super Duty is what you've come to expect after walking ten times around this dual-branded block. Harley owners not willing to ride in the rain (we can't blame them) and others that like to emulate the leather- and chrome-clad image have purchased over 60,000 of the things in the last eight years. This time around it's a celebration of the Pennsylvania-based biking outfit's 105th anniversary, coinciding with Ford's own celebration of building cars for just as many years.
Paint schemes are inspired by Harley's special-edition 105th anniversary motorcycle and come in one of two flavors: either a two-tone, black and "Vintage Copper" combo or an all black body with copper pin striping. According to Brad Richards, the Ford/Harley brand manager, the chrome side vents and grille are inspired by the heat diffusers found on the cylinder heads of the V-Twin, and the 20-inch polished wheels bring the theme home.
