Bob Smith supported the Middletown Elks' sixth annual Poker Run and Street Fair on Sunday because the event benefited local children with special needs.
Sponsored by Elks Lodge 2179, the charity event for special-needs children featured about 480 motorcycle riders who gathered at the Elks' parking lot at 251 Church St. for food, music and other fun activities. The daylong event started around 9 a.m. with riders from all parts of Monmouth and Ocean counties taking part in a poker run. The riders began returning to the lodge around 2 p.m.
