Harley falters in Q3

Harley-Davidson, which operates its largest facility in Springettsbury Township, said this morning its third quarter revenue for 2007 was about 5.8 percent below what it was in 2006.
Jim Ziemer, chief executive officer, called “disappointing but not unexpected.”

Income was down about 15 percent and earnings per share was down about 11 percent, the company said.

International sales, one of the bright spots in Harley-Davidson's finances over the past year, were up nearly 9 percent.
