Harley suppliers to absorb production pause, but questions remain

Harley-Davidson Inc. will shut down its Springettsbury Township factory the week of Nov. 26 amid sluggish sales.
The company's Kansas City, Mo., plant and three Wisconsin facilities will also be closed.

In York County, the unplanned shutdown amounts to four days because employees are off for the start of deer season on Monday anyway, said Tom Boger, a leader of local lodge 175 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.

Local Harley suppliers said the impact on them would be minimal.
