Top Drivers Hold On to No. 1 Spots in Las Vegas

Tony Schumacher, Robert Hight, and Chip Ellis held on to their No. 1 qualifying positions Saturday at the ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals, each earning eight vital points in their quests for NHRA POWERade Series world championship titles, while Countdown contender Dave Connolly usurped Justin Humphreys to keep his historic momentum going in Pro Stock.

Local favorite Rod Fuller also made headlines, earning his first $100,000 winner’s share of the Technicoat Top Fuel Shootout after a runner-up finish last season.

One Dead In Motorcycle Accident On I-10

Derrell L. Stone, 47, was on a Harley Davidson traveling westbound on I-10. Another car was slowing for traffic ahead of him. The Florida Highway Patrol said Stone did not see the car slow down and he collided with the rear of car.
Stone was ejected from the motorcycle. He died on scene. FHP said he was not wearing a helmet.

Regions Bank to celebrate new branch opening with block party in E. Naples

Regions Bank will celebrate the opening of its new Naples Lakes branch Saturday with its signature neighborhood-style block party from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in East Naples.

The grand opening celebration includes free lunch from Great American hot dogs, popcorn and ice cream, a giant slide and bounce house, face painting for the kids, free piggy banks, chances to play games for cash prizes and discounts at neighborhood stores. The new branch is located at 8340 Sierra Meadows Blvd., off Collier Boulevard across from the new Physicians Regional Medical Center.

Harley gets in for its chop



The iconic American bike manufacturer is sick of watching the custom bike houses take their products and convert them into chopped works of art for customers.

Now Harley-Davidson has finally delivered their own chopper straight off the factory floor with full warranty, proven engineering and a much lower price tag than a custom bike.

The Rocker and Rocker C models arrive in Australia early next year.
